We just returned from our trip to Utah! Riley was so excited to go to Utah (!) that he stayed awake for the ENTIRE drive there. What a trooper! Aiden did sleep periodically however many times he just screamed! Aiden is a screamer...which is frustrating and definetly is something we need to work on!
Randy's brother Sean entered the MTC on Wednesday, it was neat to be able to see him off (even though my kids were both tired and crabby!) The MTC is an amazing place...they talk about the spirit that is felt there, and it is truly amazing. We walked by one of the cafeterias and I got to show Riley where the missionaries eat. We are looking forward to writing Sean every week and to hear of his adventures as an Elder in Nashville Tennessee. :) We got to stay at my cousin Byron and Tricia's house while we were in Salt Lake area. Riley sure loves their kids and had a blast playing with some boys closer to his age for a change! It was great getting to visit with my relatives. As always I got some great parenting tips from Tricia! We also got to see many of Randy's extended family as well...some cousins of his and Aunts and Uncles. And of course Grandpa and Grandma Helland. We took the boys to Temple Square on Tuesday and did the tour! Riley had fun walking around the temple grounds - he sure loves temples! There is a lot construction in the area, so it made things interesting for parking and lunch.
After our adventures in Salt Lake/Provo we drove up to Logan Utah to stay with Matt and Amanda. Riley sure does love his cousins! Derrick and Riley are pretty close in age (14 months??) and Matt and I noticed that Derrick is very much like Matt and Riley is very much like me (apparently!). Matt couldn't figure out why they seem to push each others buttons, but I reminded him that we had issues too when we were that age! Randy got to go out and help Matt on the house they are building. Matt told Amanda it was nice to have Randy there so he didn't have to think as much and they could just do the work! Randy seemed to enjoy being able to help as well! On Saturday night we went to dinner at a nice restaurant - Hamiltons. Afterward he gave us the tour of his office building. It was neat to see where he works and how different it is from where I work! Randy and I both really liked Logan, it wouldn't be a bad place to live.
We have decided to start keeping track of many of the hilarious things our son Riley says. We enjoy having conversations with him because he is very thoughtful and intuitive. He also remembers everything we tell him! One morning last week after eating oatmeal for breakfast I noticed that Riley had managed to get Oatmeal on his neck. I being a MOM started picking at it and Riley pulled away and said No Mommy! Then he reached up and felt his neck and said "You can't do that Mommy because I am becoming a Man!" Apparently he thought he was getting whiskers so he could shave. :) What a cute kid!

It was sure fun having you stay at our house. You guys were great to have as company as you didn't complain, helped clean up and just went with the punches. It has been fun seeing you now twice in a year instead of once.
